About Us

The First Baptist Church of St. George was gathered through the missionary efforts of Elder Isaac Case in 1784. The church was organized in 1789 and prospered under the guidance of our first settled minister, Elder Ephraim Hall, ordained in 1793. Through the grace of God, the dedication and loyalty of many faithful servants throughout the years, the church has continued to prosper and is now the oldest religious organization in Knox County. Today the church continues its over 200-year tradition of upholding the name and teachings of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
